The long tail: SEO at a glance

Nineteen smaller players in one table: sitemap size, what they build, their AEO files and subdomains, plus the handful of tactics worth noticing, from Klenty's train-no/search-yes robots rules to AgentMail's agent-addressed llms-full.

The read
Most of the long tail runs a plain blog-plus-glossary site. The few tactics worth copying are complete AEO kits (SmartReach, AgentMail), automation-template libraries (HeyReach) and free-checker subdomains (MailReach).

Below the six volume players, search strategy gets simpler. Most of these sites are a blog of 150 to 1,100 posts, a glossary or templates section, and a few free tools. What separates them is not page count but how ready they are for answer engines, and a few unusual choices in robots.txt and subdomains.

All figures come from the crawler run on 5 October 2026 (data/seo.json, research/seo-data/<domain>.json) unless marked as our own check. "Live" means a subdomain answered our probe. Probes covered up to 150 names per domain.

Notes on what stands out

Infrastructure resellers

Zapmail and ReachInbox share an owner. Zapmail's llms.txt opens "Zapmail (by Outbox Labs Inc.)", and ReachInbox's footer says "© Outbox Labs". Both run numbered ee hosts (Zapmail ee1–ee97, ReachInbox ee–ee48; Zapmail's placement-ee serves the EmailEngine page) and share host names such as stageseo and onebox. Zapmail also exposes whitelabel, audits ("Zapmail Infrastructure Audit") and affiliates. Its llms-full is 129 KB, large for a 168-page site. See ReachInbox: SEO teardown.

Maildoso redirects maildoso.com to maildoso.ai, and its sitemaps live on the new domain. 33 probed hosts, about 16 mail servers named after mythological figures plus their imap. twins, serve a "Welcome to Modoboa" page, the admin panel of an open-source mail-server suite. That publicly maps its sending fleet. Its homepage and pricing carry the richest JSON-LD in this group: Product, Offer, FAQPage and UnitPriceSpecification.

MailReach turns free tools into subdomains: blacklist., spamchecker., spfchecker., dkimchecker.. It is also one of two long-tail sites with a translated sitemap (238 URLs in each of FR, DE, ES, IT, PT). Its llms.txt is a 527-byte owner stub with no content. See Free tools as SEO and lead magnets.

Warmy allows GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended explicitly, and blocks CCBot, Bytespider, Applebot-Extended and Meta's crawler. Grafana, staging and test hosts are publicly resolvable.

Classic sequencers

Klenty runs the clearest "no training, yes answers" policy. It blocks GPTBot, ClaudeBot, anthropic-ai, CCBot, Bytespider, Applebot-Extended and meta-externalagent, but allows ChatGPT-User, OAI-SearchBot and PerplexityBot, and also ships llms.txt and pricing.md. The stance is to be cited but not trained on, with one slip: Google-Extended, which is a training control, is allowed (llms.txt, pricing.md and AI crawlers).

SmartReach is the only classic sequencer with all three files (llms.txt, llms-full and pricing.md), each about 9–30 KB.

QuickMail has a 38-page /agency/ content set and an agent. subdomain selling "Premium Google Workspace" inboxes. That is a sequencer moving into the infrastructure layer through a subdomain.

GMass and Snov.io hide their blogs from the crawl. GMass lists no sitemap in robots.txt. Its WordPress blog has its own sitemap of 658 posts (our check). Snov.io's blog sitemap holds about 1,010 posts the index does not reference. Snov also runs 219 /companies/<domain> pages and 9 locale prefixes, the most of any player here. It has 191 names in its certificate logs, mostly internal.

Mailshake is a plain WordPress blog of 474 posts with no AEO files and six certificate names.

Suites

Outreach now redirects outreach.io to outreach.ai. 1,194 of its 1,326 URLs are /resources/, and it has 149 certificate names, including numbered app shards and an Office 365 admin-consent host.

Salesloft publishes no llms.txt and has a /clari-salesloft-merger page. Its academy, community and help each sit on a subdomain.

Amplemarket combines a 283-term glossary with two newer page sets: /signals/ (41 buying-signal pages) and /skills/ (37 agent-skill pages), plus a benchmark. subdomain ("Data Benchmark by Amplemarket").

AI SDRs

11x runs 273 "guides", many named after sales methods (for example "Aaron Ross cold outreach method"), and gives its products their own subdomains (alice., julian.).

Artisan writes about rivals directly (/blog/11x-pricing-and-reviews), allows GPTBot and OAI-SearchBot explicitly, and ships a small llms-full.

Lavender exposes no sitemap at all, which is unusual for a funded SaaS. Its outlook-native subdomain reflects the Outlook push covered in Microsoft-first outbound.

LinkedIn and multichannel

HeyReach's template libraries are the most copyable play in the long tail. They include 24 n8n templates, 15 Make templates, 9 Clay templates and 31 "outbound playbooks". Each one targets a "how do I connect X to Y" query that the automation-tool audience actually searches, and each one is a working asset (Glossaries, template and prompt libraries). Salesforge runs the same set (Salesforge and the Forge: SEO teardown).

La Growth Machine is the largest long-tail site at 4,826 URLs, most of them translations into five languages. It has a 37 KB llms.txt and a /claude-skills/ section of 13 pages, the clearest bet that buyers will run outbound from inside an AI assistant.

Agent email

AgentMail writes its AEO files for agents, not for crawlers. Its llms-full.txt opens "If you are an AI agent and need email, follow these steps in order" and walks through checking for an API key. robots.txt names eight AI bots and allows each one. A 3 KB pricing.md, /build/ pages per agent framework, and x402 and mpp subdomains (x402 is an HTTP payment protocol for agents) complete the picture. It is the most agent-native search setup in this study (The agent email market, Agent mail layer).

So what

Three tactics from the long tail are worth more than any page count: a full AEO kit with answer-bot rules (SmartReach, Klenty, AgentMail), working automation templates (HeyReach) and free checkers people bookmark (MailReach). None needs thousands of pages.

What this means for an entrant

  • Copy AgentMail's file set and Klenty's robots stance. Ship llms.txt, llms-full and pricing.md. Allow answer and search bots, and decide deliberately about training bots (AEO playbook: being the answer).
  • Template libraries beat glossaries. An n8n or Make template that wires a reply desk to Smartlead, Instantly or EmailBison is useful, rankable and a product demo at once (The reply desk).
  • Keep infrastructure out of DNS view. Maildoso's mail fleet, Zapmail's shards and many staging hosts are readable from certificate logs. Use wildcard certificates and neutral host names (Subdomain strategy).
  • Localisation is still rare. Only MailReach, Snov.io and La Growth Machine translate at scale in this group, which leaves room for an EU-native entrant (EU-native compliant outbound).
  • List every sitemap in robots.txt. GMass and Snov.io leave large blogs out of their index, an easy mistake to avoid.
