Every vendor in this market runs a blog. They differ in what else they run around it and in how much of the writing is done by people. Three findings stand out:
- Blog size does not track traffic. Instantly's 1,402 posts sit on a site that Similarweb says gets ~78% of visits direct, against 45% for Salesforge (panel estimates). Instantly is brand-led and its blog is support. Salesforge is content-led, with roughly an eighth of Instantly's visits.
- Sitemap
lastmoddates measure redeploys, not publishing. All 410 of lemlist's English blog URLs carry a September 2026lastmod. So do 253 of Clay's 262. 808 of Instantly's 1,402 were stamped in July 2026. We sampled real publication dates from the pages instead. - The AI-written signal splits the market. A crude count of stock LLM phrases puts Zapmail (2.68 per 1,000 words), Salesforge (2.26) and Smartlead (1.66) far above Instantly (0.13), Hunter (0.15), lemlist (0.25) and EmailBison (0.06).
Blog volume and real cadence
For each blog we took 30 random English posts and read datePublished from the page's JSON-LD or meta tags (5 October 2026). "Implied 2026 posts" scales the sample share to the blog size. With n=30 the margin is roughly ±18 percentage points, so read the column as an order of magnitude.

*Word counts include page chrome and are inflated for long navigation (PlusVibe). The stock-phrase metric counts "delve", "in today's", "ever-evolving", "landscape", "game-changer", "unlock", "elevate", "seamless", "crucial role" and "in conclusion" per 1,000 words of page text. It is a rough proxy, not an AI detector.
What the table shows:
- Instantly is the volume publisher among sequencers. About 75 posts a month in 2026, if the sample holds, and low on stock phrasing. Many posts are product-led comparisons and "how to" pages (Instantly: SEO teardown).
- Salesforge publishes most once you count all its domains. The sibling teardown counted about 12,950 sitemap URLs across salesforge.ai and its five product domains (Salesforge and the Forge: SEO teardown). Most posts expose no publication date, and it has the second-highest stock-phrase density.
- Several engines have stopped. PlusVibe's sampled posts are all from February 2026, and none of its 570 blog URLs has a
lastmodafter June. Mailshake published heavily in Q1 2026 and then slowed sharply (one sampled post after March). QuickMail has one bloglastmodsince July out of 480. Zapmail's latest sampled post is from January. - EmailBison writes little but well. Its 55 posts score lowest on stock phrasing and are almost all 2026 comparison pieces (Comparison and alternatives pages).
Bulk re-stamps dominate: lemlist 410 of 410 blog URLs in Sep 2026, Clay 253 of 262 in Sep 2026, Mailshake 381 of 475 in Apr 2026, Amplemarket 212 of 333 in Apr 2026, Clay's whole site 27,593 URLs in Jun 2026. Anyone measuring competitors' "freshness" from sitemaps will badly overcount. Read datePublished on the page.
AI-content signals beyond phrasing
- Default dates. All 30 La Growth Machine posts we sampled declare 2022 as their publication year, which looks like a site-wide template value rather than real dates.
- Missing dates. Smartlead, Apollo, MailReach and Clay expose no
datePublishedin the samples, and Salesforge only on 3 of 30. This is not proof of AI writing, but it removes a freshness signal that both Google and AI assistants use. - Off-topic scale. PlusVibe's glossary defines "amortization" in stock LLM prose (Glossaries, template and prompt libraries). Salesforge's 843 "outbound strategy for
" pages are templated at scale (Programmatic SEO).
Beyond the blog: video, sessions, courses, communities
Counts from sitemaps, English, 5 October 2026.
| Vendor | Format | Size | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Smartlead | /office-hours/ sessions; "Cold to Close" podcast; ebooks; /smartlead-101/ | 96; 8; 24; 40 | Office hours with practitioners ("1 million placement tests broken down…") are its strongest content |
| Instantly | /academy/ webinars and the weekly "Instantly Show"; courses and lecture playlists | 44; 44 + 10 + playlists | Plus a Facebook group "Cold Email Masterclass by Instantly", reported at over 50,000 members (secondary, undated) |
| Clay | /livestreams/; university; community | 101 EN; 2 hosts; Slack-mirrored forum | The community ranks for "Instantly vs Smartlead" (Affiliate and review-site SEO) |
| lemlist | YouTube; founder channel | @lemlist 19.2K subscribers, 459 videos; @GuillaumeMoubeche 48.4K, 602 | Fetched by the sibling lemlist pass, 5 Oct 2026 (lemlist: search teardown). Founder-led media (Distribution) |
| Apollo.io | /academy/, /magazine/ | 153, 119 | Product education at scale |
| Amplemarket | /university/, /academy/ | 65, 25 | Moved into a subfolder (Subdomain strategy) |
| Salesforge | /cold-email-masterclass/, LinkedIn course | 41, 10 | Course content in four languages |
| HeyReach | Outbound playbooks; n8n / Make / Clay templates | 31; 24 / 15 / 9 | Workflow libraries as content |

| PlusVibe | Slack community | — | Promoted site-wide in the navigation |
Formats with practitioners do two things a blog cannot. They give affiliates and agencies something to share, and they produce first-hand quotes and numbers that later feed the blog. Smartlead's 96 office-hours pages are also indexable transcripts of practitioner advice, so the content does double duty for search.
We could not measure YouTube reliably: channel pages rendered inconsistent subscriber counts for Instantly, Smartlead and Salesforge, so we report only the lemlist figures fetched by the sibling pass. No vendor discloses newsletter subscribers, podcast downloads or community size beyond the secondary Instantly figure. We found no traffic split by blog versus tools versus directories for any vendor.
Does volume work?
Third-party estimates are weak, but they point one way. Semrush's August 2026 organic estimates put Hunter at 322K with 286 blog posts. Its traffic most likely comes from tools and data pages, the email finder and technology lists, not from posts. Saleshandy is at 86K, up 40% with 565 posts and its agency directory. lemlist is at 76K, down 18% with 410 posts in four languages. Instantly's 1,402 posts sit on a brand-led site (Instantly: SEO teardown). Volume alone does not separate winners from losers. Content with a product attached does: tools, data and directories.
What this means for an entrant
- Publish 8–12 posts a month written by people with data, not 75 written by a model. EmailBison's 55 low-phrase comparison posts get its brand queries covered. Instantly's 700 a year work only because its brand already pulls the traffic.
- Run a weekly session format from week one. An "EU Agency Office Hours" with one agency operator per week, on deliverability, GDPR objections and multi-client reply ops, gives you an indexable transcript, a YouTube video, quotes for the blog and a reason for agencies to know you. It is Smartlead's best asset, rebuilt for Lead-gen agencies in Europe.
- Put a real
datePublishedand named author on every post, and changelastmodonly when the content changes. Freshness signals are cheap to get right, and many competitors get them wrong. - Publish a quarterly data report from the product. Reply-rate and reply-category benchmarks by country and provider, from your reply desk (The reply desk, Reply benchmarks). That is the content nobody else can write and AI assistants cite (Who AI answer engines recommend).
- Write in English, with German for legal and reply topics. Per The keyword landscape, product queries are English across the EU and the legal queries are local.
- Build the community where agencies already talk. A Slack or Skool group for EU agency operators beats a Facebook group in 2026 (The info economy).
